RENAME HIJACKTHIS

There is some infection hiding in your log.

Using Windows Explore by right-clicking the Start button and left clicking Explore navigate to:
C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe

Right-click on HijackThis.exe & select Rename to scanner.exe and post back a new Hijackthis log.

Download and Run ComboFix
If you already have Combofix, please delete this copy and download it again as it's being updated regularly.
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.
If it does, open Task Manager then Processes tab (press ctrl, alt and del at the same time) and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue.
If that happened we want to know, and also what process you had to end

  1. Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and save it to a convenient location.
  2. Double click on mbam-setup.exe to install it.
  3. Before clicking the Finish button, make sure that these 2 boxes are checked (ticked):
      Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
      Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  4. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware will now check for updates. If your firewall prompts, please allow it. If you can't update it, select the Update tab. Under Update Mirror, select one of the websites and click on Check for Updates.
  5. Select the Scanner tab. Click on Perform full scan, then click on Scan.
  6. Leave the default options as it is and click on Start Scan.
  7. When done, you will be prompted. Click OK, then click on Show Results.
  8. Checked (ticked) all items and click on Remove Selected.
  9. After it has removed the items, Notepad will open. Please post this log in your next reply. You can also find the log in the Logs tab. The bottom most log is the latest.

Please post the combofix log ,malwarebytes log along with a fresh hjt log in your next reply

Hi swanny,i have looked through you logs and have prepared a fix for you,as for the malwarebytes problem it could be one of two things first is spybot search and destroy teatimer, which i will have you uninstall and can be re-installed after you are clean the other thing could be you are using Prevx,if its not the payed version and you do not need it please uninstall it.

Now Go to Start-Settings-Control Panel, click on Add remove Programs. If any of the following programs are listed there, click on the program to highlight it, and click on remove. Then close the Control Panel.

    Spybot search and destroy

COMBOFIX-Script

  • Please open Notepad (Start -> Run -> type notepad in the Open field -> OK) and copy and paste the text present inside the code box below:

    Code: Select all
    Registry::

  • Save this as CFScript.txt and change the "Save as type" to "All Files" and place it on your desktop.

    Image
  • Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before following the steps below. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
  • Referring to the screenshot above, drag CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe.
  • ComboFix will now run a scan on your system. It may reboot your system when it finishes. This is normal.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Copy and paste the contents of the log in your next reply.

CAUTION: Do not mouse-click ComboFix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Run Kaspersky Online AV Scanner
Using Internet Explorer Go to http://www.kaspersky.com/kos/eng/partner/default/kavwebscan.html and click the Accept button at the end of the page.

Note for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble with the accept button of the licence, click on the Zoom tool located at the right bottom of the IE window and set the zoom to 75 %. Once the license accepted, reset to 100%.
  • Read the Requirements and limitations before you click Accept.
  • Allow the ActiveX download if necessary.
  • Once the database has downloaded, click Next.
  • Click Scan Settings and change the "Scan using the following antivirus database" from standard to extended and then click OK.
  • Click on "My Computer" and then put the kettle on!
  • When the scan has completed, click Save Report As...
  • Enter a name for the file in the Filename: text box and then click the down arrow to the right of Save as type: and select text file (*.txt)
  • Click Save - by default the file will be saved to your Desktop, but you can change this if you wish.

Copy and paste the report into your next reply along with a fresh HJT log and a description of how your PC is behaving.

In your next post please post the contents of combofix log, kaspersky log and a fresh hjt log

TruePoker and Ladbrokes Poker, and the related sites are a risk and that's where most malware gets installed. Online Poker sites are well known for placing all manner of Internet parasites on their visitors' computers and continue to do so. They should be highly suspect for any Malware on your computer. In a lot of cases, these Poker plugins are also getting installed without your asking for it. You can read Poker gamers targeted by a rootkit backdoor regarding the risk involved with visiting the Poker games web sites. Two safe alternatives are PokerStars and Pogo.com.

I recommend that you remove TruePoker and Ladbrokes Poker via add/remove programs.

and fix the following lines using hjt

Open up Hijackthis.
Click on do a system scan only.
Place a checkmark next to these lines(if still present).

O9 - Extra button: Ladbrokes Poker - {C2A80015-C447-4dc4-82DD-AED83D6ED57E} - C:\Microgaming\Poker\ladbrokesMPP\MPPoker.exe
O16 - DPF: {D8089245-3211-40F6-819B-9E5E92CD61A2} (FlashXControl Object) - https://flashpoker.ladbrokes.com/ladbrokes/FlashAX.cab

Then close all windows except Hijackthis and click Fix Checked
Close HijackThis.

Messenger Plus! (MessengerPlus2, MessengerPlus3) (MP) is an add‑on for Microsoft's free messaging programs Windows Messenger and MSN Messenger. It is a 'free' download (with a few stingers in its tail). MP includes an optional Sponsor Program provided by C2Media. The Sponsor Program is commonly known in the anti‑spyware and adware world as 'Lop' or 'Lop.com'. There has been a problem since Messenger Plus! first started including the Sponsor Program in approximately May 2003, with users installing the Sponsor Program without understanding what the Sponsor Program is, what it does to a user's system, or the privacy implications involved.

Messenger Plus!, if installed to include the 'sponsor program', will install adware on your computer that generates pop up windows. The Sponsor Program will also change your home page, your search engine settings, place numerous links in IE favorites (including online casino and gambling links) and place more links on your desktop. The search toolbar that is installed cannot be turned off. The pop up advertising windows will appear even if you are running IE's pop‑up blocker. This is because the Sponsor Program adds its advertisement URLs to the pop‑up blocker exclusion list. If you want to reinstall MessengerPlus3, make sure you click "I refuse, do not install the sponsor program". This program is not required to start automatically as you can start it manually if you need it. It is advised that you disable this program so that it does not take up necessary resources. To uninstall the Messenger Plus! (MessengerPlus2, MessengerPlus3):
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. In Control Panel, double-click Add or Remove Programs.
  3. In Add or Remove Programs, highlight Messenger Plus! (MessengerPlus2, MessengerPlus3), click Remove.
  4. Close the Add or Remove Programs and the Control Panel windows.
