Hi,

There is no sign of an antivirus installed on your system. There are several reasons for it. Either you have disabled your antivirus or there's no antivirus installed.

If you have disabled it, please re-enable it. If you have no antivirus installed, please get ONE antivirus and install it. Restart the computer for changes to take effect.

Please post back a new HijackThis log after installing the antivirus.

In addition, please do the following:

1. Please download and install CCleaner Slim.
2. Once installed, double click on the desktop shortcut created.
3. On the leftmost column, click on Tools.
4. On the middle column, click on Uninstall.
5. At the bottom right hand corner, click on the Save to text file... button.
6. By default, it saves this file to C:\Program Files\CCleaner named install.txt. You may want to save it to your desktop to find it easily. Click Save.
7. Close CCleaner.

Note: Doing this will not uninstall any programs. It will only produce a log of installed programs on your computer.

In your next reply, please post:

1. A new HijackThis log
2. CCleaner install.txt file

i just used Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, it found 8 infected files, i got them removed and the pop up has stopped, thank you for your help

One note before continuing.

You have P2P programs installed (Azureus and Limewire). While both P2P programs are not infected with spywares, there's no guarantee that the files downloaded are. Please refrain from them while cleaning your computer to prevent getting more infections.

4. Click on the Open Uninstall Manager... button.
5. Select Message of the Day and click on the Edit uninstall command button. Copy and paste this command to a document and save it.
6. Repeat for these programs: MVision and WASTE

Please open HijackThis and select Do a system scan only.

Put a check (tick) next to these lines:

Click Fix checked. Close HijackThis.

Step 2

Please go to Kaspersky website and perform an online antivirus scan. Please use Internet Explorer as it uses ActiveX.

1. Read through the requirements and privacy statement and click on Accept button.
2. It will start downloading and installing the scanner and virus definitions. You will be prompted to install an ActiveX from Kaspersky. Click Yes.
3. When the downloads have finished, click on Next button.
4. Click on Scan Settings button.
5. Select extended under Scan using the following antivirus database:
6. Check (tick) these boxes under Scan options:
   • Scan Archives
   • Scan Mail Bases
7. Click OK
8. Click on My Computer under Please select a target to scan:
9. Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected. Click on Save as text button and save it to your desktop.

1. Open Spybot Search & Destroy.
2. Click on the Recovery button.
3. Check all the items in the Recovery section and click on Purge selected items.
4. Close Spybot Search & Destroy.

Update Java Runtime Environment (JRE)

Your JRE is out of date. The current version is Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 5.

1. Click on Start > Control Panel and double click on Add/Remove Programs. Locate J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6 and click on Change/Remove to uninstall it.
2. Repeat for these old versions of JRE: J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 9
3. Click here to visit Java's website.
4. Scroll down to Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 5. Click on Download.
5. Read through the License Agreement and select Accept License Agreement radio button. The page will refresh.
6. Click on Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language to download it. Save this to a convenient location.
7. Run this installation to update your Java.

Install a firewall

There is no sign of a firewall installed on your system. There are several reasons for it.

1. You are using Windows Firewall.
2. You are using a hardware firewall.
3. You have a firewall, but you disabled it.
4. You don't have a firewall at all.

If you have disabled the firewall, please re-enable it back. If you don't have one, please get ONE firewall and install it. Restart the computer for changes to take effect.
