Hello nmcadams :) ,

I will be assisting you with your malware issues.

  • Whatever repairs we make, are for fixing your computer problems only and by no means should be used on another computer.
  • Continue to respond to this thread until I give you the All Clean! If you have any question or you're stuck in there please reply it to me. I will try my best to help you!
  • Please bookmark or favourite this page. In case you need it as reference or etc.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you are using Windows Vista you must right click on the desktop icon and choose Run as Administrator all tools
----------------------------------------------
I apologise for the delay. If you still want to clean your pc, please post back a new HijackThis log, IN NORMAL MODE and please post it normally and not as attachment.
Using Safe mode with Networking support should be avoided because while in safe mode your pc is completely un-protected. No Anti-Virus or Firewall are working in safe mode.

Chryssi2001,
Thanks for the response. I have since my last post, fixed the problem. Here's how:
The PC was infected with safenavweb. The ONLY malware program that worked on it (and cleaned a bunch of other stuff off too) was MalewareByte's AntiMalware. The program is free and works great.

Thx,
nmcadams

Hello nmcadams,

Thanks for letting me know. :)
Yes indeed MalewareByte's AntiMalware is a very good scanner.

I will close this topic since everything is fixed. :)
