I do not know how to get these off my computer. I have Counterspy and it picks these two up every time I run a scan, seemingly erases them, but if I do another immediate scan they reappear. I asked them (CounterSpy) and they don't have a solution - they sent me here.

I have scanned w/Ad-Aware SE Personal and Spy-Bot search and destroy and they don't pick them up.

Any clues on what to do? My log is below (and anything else you think I should get rid of let me know that too....

Thanks!

Jake,
Welcome to MWR.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Please download, install, and update the free trial version of Ewido trojan scanner: from here : http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
* Install ewido security suite
* When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
* Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop. Double-click it.
* The program will now go to the main screen
* On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
* Then click on Start Update.
The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
If you are having problems with the updater, you can also use the download link http://www.ewido.net/en/download/ to manually update ewido.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Start Your Computer in Safe Mode.
Reboot into Safe Mode by hitting the F8 key repeatedly as the machine boots, until a menu shows up. Choose Safe Mode from the list.
In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work.
Extra instructions are here if you need them.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Close all open windows/programs/folders. Have nothing else open while ewido performs its scan!
Now Run Ewido
* Click on scanner
* Click on Settings
* Under "How to scan" all boxes should be selected
* Under "Possibly unwanted software" all boxes should be selected
* Under "What to scan" select scan every file
* Click OK
* Click on Complete system scan
* Let the program scan the machine
* If ewido finds anything, it will pop up a notification.
* Let it fix whatever it finds
Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report.
* Click Save report
* Save the report to your desktop
* Exit ewido
-----------------------------------------------------------
Remove log items with HighjackThis. Start HijackThis. If the opening screen shows, choose None of the above, just start the program.
Click Scan. When the Scan is complete, Check the following entries, if they exist:
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {BA52B914-B692-46c4-B683-905236F6F655} - (no file)
O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} - http://software-dl.real.com/01dad4cd3d2 ... xIE601.cab

If neither you nor an administrator altered the Control Panel policies to restrict access, check this one:
O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present
Make sure all other windows except HJT are closed, and Click Fix Checked.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Post a New HJT Log
Reboot your computer. Start HijackThis. Click Do System Scan and Save a Log File.
When the Scan is complete, select the whole log (Ctrl-A), copy and paste the log contents in a reply. Please do not use Word Wrap when you paste in the reply.
Please include the whole log with the upper part, and the Ewido log contents.

I don't know how to change this little box to non-word wrap.

I ended up having to run Ewido scan twice, because I forgot to save the log, and there were 21 infections the second time, 13 the first, and I don't think I'd even been on the internet between scans, maybe briefly.

There were three that could not be removed until at the very end. There was a dialog box (for each) saying that they couldn't be removed w/out deleting a whole file or cache or something that they were in. The second time I deleted all three - hope that was OK.

Thank you so much for your help here.

Jake

Your log looks clean to me. Good job!
If your computer is running well, proceed with the processes below to clean up and improve your security.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Disable WinXP System Restore
Disable your System Restore to remove malware files that have been backed up by Windows. The files in System Restore are protected to prevent any programs changing those files. This is the only way to clean these files. You will also lose all previous restore points which are likely to be infected.
- Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
- On the System Restore tab, put a Check mark in the Turn Off System Restore check box.
- Click OK twice, and then click Yes when you are prompted to restart the computer.
If you are not prompted to reboot, do it on your own.
-----------------------------------------------------------
After the Reboot,
Enable WinXP System Restore
- Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
- On the System Restore tab, Clear the Check mark beside the Turn Off System Restore check box.
- Click OK twice, and then click Yes when you are prompted to restart the computer.
The disable/re-enable System Restore sequence is not to be done regularly, but only once after the removal of malware.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Download and Install a HOSTS File (Spybot Teatimer will ask or complain)
A Hosts file is a plain text file which prevents your computer from connecting to malware and spyware sites by redirecting the connection request to 127.0.0.1, which is your local address. If you use a proxy server, or if you are on AOL, be sure to read the special instructions on the MVPS site.
* MVPS Hosts File
You can download the MVPS Hosts File and see a HOSTS file tutorial here : http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm
This website also contains useful tips, and links to other resources and utilities.
-----------------------------------------------------------
If you don't have it already, Install SpywareBlaster - SpywareBlaster will added a large list of programs and sites to your Internet Explorer settings that will protect you from accidentally running or downloading known malicious programs. Available from http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
After the installation, click Download Latest Protection Updates. When it finishes, clickEnable All Protection.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Install IE-SPYAD Find it here: https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/ehowes/www/resource.htm
IE-SPYAD puts over 5000 sites in your restricted zone, so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all. It prevents any downloads, cookies, or scripts from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to them.
A tutorial can be found here : http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/Using_IE_Spyad_to_enhance_your_privacy_and_security-tut53.html
