Hijackthis Log for Inspection

Unread postby polak » January 8th, 2008, 5:18 am

I have run into a peculiar problem while working on a friend's computer. After connecting to the internet the home page loads normally but when going to favorites and clicking on a link in favorites an error comes that Internet Explorer needs to close. This occurs with all links in favorites. The error code given is that an error has occurred in ieframe.dll with the version given as 7.0.6000.1613.

A scan has been run with AVG antispyware as well as AntiVir antivirus. AntiVir during the rootkit portion of the scan found an infection that was quarantined. The quarantined file was identified as adobe.exploit.gen.

Attached is the Hijackthis log and the AntiVir log.

I continued to work on trying to solve the problem with Internet Explorer. I managed to determine that the problem with I.E. was the result of file corruption in I.E. I installed Internet Explorer 7 and voila the problem was solved. This thread can be considered solved.

Thank you.
