Run and scan with HijackThis and place checks beside the following:

KotaGuy,

Kaspersky showed everything was blocked to scan and it would only save in my temporary internet file. Remember I got McAfee running as well as AVG. Now what can I do. Do we really need to go and do Kaspersky or do you think my computer may be clean from what you see in my first hijackthis log? What do you think?

Your log didn't really show anything bad.

Where exactly is Mcafee flagging this file? Java cache maybe?

I have no idea where it is blocking it, but everything was skipped in the Kapersky scan for my computer area. Each item said my computer blocked it. I just figured it was McAfee. It could be my firewall. All I know is the scan said it detected no malware because every section was blocked from being scanned.

Was the log saying blocked or locked? Its not uncommon for a KAV scan to report items as locked.

OK... as for having both Mcafee and AVG installed. Thats not such a good idea. You should only go with one Anti-Virus program... having two running at the same time eats up resources and may cause conflicts between the two programs.

I'd like you to try a couple things for me. Clear your Java cache...

  • Press Start
  • Go to Control Panel
  • Click Java
  • Under Temporary Internet Files click Settings...
  • Now click Delete files...
  • Select both options and click OK
  • The temporary files will now be deleted.
  • When done click OK twice and close Control Panel

Download ATF (Atribune Temp File) Cleaner© by Atribune to your desktop.

Double-click ATF Cleaner.exe to open it.

Under Main choose:
Windows Temp
Current User Temp
All Users Temp
Cookies
Temporary Internet Files
Prefetch
Java Cache

*The other boxes are optional*
Then click the Empty Selected button.

Firefox:
Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click NO at the prompt.

Opera:
Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click NO at the prompt.

Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Reboot when done. Let me know if you are still getting the warning from your AV after that.

I started doing the ATF cleaner and the prefetch is grayed out and says Prefetch (Disabled). I have deleted some files in there. Off the top of my head I do not remember which ones.
I am still preceeding with the rest of the instructions from your last post. The Firefox and Opera is also grayed out and can not access. I do not use either of these. I also have deleted AVG from my computer.

It saves in my temporary internet files under a virtual folder. I opened all of them and can not find the supposed saved scan. Everything is empty or just has the Kaspersky online website.

I'd like to see a copy of the scan results. Once the scan is done are you clicking on the Save as text button and saving it to your desktop?
