Unread postby ipcp100 » November 29th, 2007, 11:24 pm

hi,
my computer is infected with INF:Autorun-F [Trj]. Everytime immediately after the sysyem boots I am getting warning from Avast anti virus software that " A Trozan Horse was found " saying that
File name: c:\autorun.inf
Malware name: INF:Autorun-F [Trj]
Malware type: Trozan Horse
VPS version: 071128-0, 11/28/2007
After taking one of the available actions another warning message will appear saying that
File name: d:\autorun.inf
Malware name: INF:Autorun-F [Trj]
Malware type: Trozan Horse
VPS version: 071128-0, 11/28/2007
This continues for all the drives in my hard disc. This process is going on and on even after I choose to delete the infected file.
I am sending the log report created by Hijackthis version 2.0.2, please give me a solution to get rid of this
Thankyou
Prasad

Hello and welcome to the forums

My name is Katana and I will be helping you to remove any infection(s) that you may have.

Please observe these rules while we work:
1. If you don't know, stop and ask! Don't keep going on.
2. Please reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.
3. Please continue to respond until I give you the "All Clear"
(Just because you can't see a problem doesn't mean it isn't there)

If you can do those three things, everything should go smoothly :D

I apologize for the delay in responding, but as you can probably see the forums are quite busy
and sometimes a post manages to slip by us.
Unfortunately there are far more people needing help than there are helpers.

If you still require help please post a fresh Hijack This log to this thread.
I will be notified and I will get back to you ASAP.

A couple of questions for you :)

Do you use a USB drive ?
Do you know what [WinClaws] C:\Windows\sec_win.exe relates to ?

AntiVirus
You appear to have AVG7, Norton and Avast4
First you should know that you're actually doing more harm than good by running more than one Anti Virus program.
When you do this the programs compete for resources, and the end result is none does it's best and can cause system instability.
I recommend that you choose one that you want to keep.
The other/s I would either uninstall, or disable from startup and use as "on demand" for an occasional scan.

Submit a File For Analysis
We need to have the files below Scanned by Uploading them/it to Virus Total

Please visit Virustotal
Copy/paste the the following file path into the window
C:\Tally\spnsrvnt.exe
Click Submit/Send File
Please post back, to let me know the results.
If Virustotal is too busy please try Jotti

Download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) to your Desktop. Note: You must be logged onto an account with administrator privileges.
  1. Close all applications and windows.
  2. Double-click on dss.exe to run it, and follow the prompts.
  3. When the scan is complete, two text files will open - main.txt <- this one will be maximized and extra.txt<-this one will be minimized
  4. Copy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of main.txt and the extra.txt to your post. in your reply
