Your system is now clean, we just need to do a little tidy up before we done.

I would keep CCleaner for furture use, the AVG AS will turn into a free Scanning only version after 30 days, so
that is worth keeping as well

Time for some housekeeping
  • Click START then RUN
  • Now type Combofix /u in the runbox and click OK

    • Image
  • When shown the disclaimer, Select "2"
The above procedure will:
  • Delete the following:
    • ComboFix and its associated files and folders.
    • VundoFix backups, if present
    • The C:\Deckard folder, if present
    • The C:_OtMoveIt folder, if present
  • Reset the clock settings.
  • Hide file extensions, if required.
  • Hide System/Hidden files, if required.
  • Reset System Restore.

This is a good time to clear your existing system restore points and establish a new clean restore point:

Turn off System Restore.

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Protection tab.
Uncheck the box under "available harddrives"
Click Apply,
Click Yes at the prompt and then click OK.
Restart your computer

Turn ON System Restore

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Protection tab.
Check the box under "available harddrives"
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Visit Microsoft's Windows Update Site Frequently - It is important that you visit http://www.windowsupdate.com regularly.
This will ensure your computer has always the latest security updates available installed on your computer. If there are new updates to install, install them immediately,
reboot your computer, and revisit the site until there are no more critical updates.

Update all your security programs regularly -. Without regular updates you WILL NOT be protected when new malicious programs are released.
Keep away from P2P and your potential for being infected again will reduce dramatically.

I will have a look at your desktop, but you will need to start a new Topic, because we do not want to have two computers in the same topic,

start a new topic and call it "halfassed Desktop for DFW" and then I will pick it up,

Start you post saying for the attention of DFW,

describe the sort problems are you having, and post a log.

Download HJT to your Desktop and post a log.

Download HJTInstall.exe to your Desktop.
  • Doubleclick HJTInstall.exe to install it.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
  • Click on Install.
  • It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
  • Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
  • Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
  • Copy/Paste the log to your next reply please.
  • Don't use the Analyse This button, its findings are dangerous if misinterpreted.
  • Don't have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
