Hello and welcome to the forums

My name is Katana and I will be helping you to remove any infection(s) that you may have.

Please observe these rules while we work:
1. If you don't know, stop and ask! Don't keep going on.
2. Please reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.
3. Please continue to respond until I give you the "All Clear"
(Just because you can't see a problem doesn't mean it isn't there)

If you can do those three things, everything should go smoothly :D

I apologize for the delay in responding, but as you can probably see the forums are quite busy
and helpers look for posts with zero replies.
Unfortunately there are far more people needing help than there are helpers.

VundoFix
Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.

Things should be getting back to normal after this :)

Flash Disinfector by sUBs
Please downloadFlash_Disinfector.exe by sUBs and save it to your desktop:

* Double-click Flash_Disinfector.exe to run it.
* Follow any prompts that may appear.
* Wait until the program has finished scanning, then please exit the program.
The tool may ask you to insert your flash drive, or other removable drives. Please do so and allow the tool to clean it up as well.

Please restart your computer.

Custom CFScript
  • Please open Notepad (Start -> Run -> type notepad in the Open field -> OK) and copy and paste the text present inside the code box below:

    Code: Select all

    File::
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\utuvw.bak1
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\utuvw.bak2
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\utuvw.ini2
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\wvutu.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ljjjg.dll

    Registry::
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\~\Browser Helper Objects\{7606F8EE-B6A5-4F6B-99C0-CFECE481C806}]
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\~\Browser Helper Objects\{A5F4D20A-4ECE-4E16-A76A-E718A00711C3}]
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\winlogon\notify\ljjjg]
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\winlogon\notify\rqrpqpq]
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\winlogon\notify\wvutu]
    [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer\mountpoints2\{3f205760-8c66-11dc-8a75-000d563baf26}]

  • Save this as CFScript.txt and place it on your desktop.

    Image

  • Referring to the screenshot above, drag CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe.
  • ComboFix will now run a scan on your system. It may reboot your system when it finishes. This is normal.
  • When finished, it will produce a log for you. Copy and paste the contents of the log in your next reply.

CAUTION: Do not mouse-click ComboFix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Hello again, and once again thank you for your help. I ran flash disinfector and it came up with a pop up 'DONE!' right after the screen went blank. As for the CFScript, i did as you guided and it keeps giving me an Abort error that says my current version of ComboFix has expired and it asks me to download an updated version. Done that thrice gives me the same error.

Thank you for you help once again.

That's looking better :)
How are things running now ?

Kaspersky Online Scanner .

Go Here http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner ( please use IE. and allow active X)

Read the Requirements and limitations before you click Accept.
Allow the ActiveX download if necessary
Once the database has downloaded, click Next.
Click Scan Settings and change the "Scan using the following antivirus database" from standard to extended and then click OK.
Click on "My Computer" and then put the kettle on!
When the scan has completed, click Save Report As...
Enter a name for the file in the Filename: text box and then click the down arrow to the right of Save as type: and select text file (*.txt)
Click Save - by default the file will be saved to your Desktop, but you can change this if you wish.

Please post the report in your reply.

Hello hello. Well most of the pop ups are gone, but when i ran the virus scan the computer just shut down as it normally did when i had a couple of extra softwares open as i explained earlier. But it did manage to scan 1 virus before the system shut down, so i rescanned it, and stopped it and here are the logs. Thank you very much for all help you have given me! :)

  • Click START then RUN
  • Now type Combofix /u in the runbox and click OK. Note the space between the X and the U, it needs to be there.
    • Image

CCleaner
Please download CCleaner from here to clean temp files from your computer.
  • Double click on the ccsetup.exe file to start the installation of the program.
  • Select your language and click OK, then next.
  • Read the license agreement and click I Agree.
  • Click next to use the default install location.
  • Under Install Options, choose all the default settings
  • Click Install then finish to complete installation.
  • Double click the CCleaner shortcut on the desktop to start the program.
  • On the "Windows" tab, under "Internet Explorer," uncheck "Cookies" if you do not want them deleted. (If deleted, you will likely need to reenter your passwords at all sites where a cookie is used to recognize you when you visit).
  • If you use either the Firefox or Mozilla browsers, the box to uncheck for "Cookies" is on the Applications tab, under Firefox/Mozilla.
  • Click on the "Options" icon at the left side of the window, then click on "Advanced."
deselect "Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours."
  • Caution: It is not recommended that you use the "Issues" feature unless you are very familiar with the registry as it has been known to find legitimate items. Click on Issues and make sure Registry Integrity is UNchecked!
  • Click on the "Cleaner" icon on the left side of the window, then click Run Cleaner to run the program.
  • After CCleaner has completed its process, click Exit.

Download and Run ComboFix
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall
ComboFix SHOULD NOT be used without supervision

Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected,
if it does open task-manager (press ctrl alt and del at the same time) and end
any process's of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue.
If that happened we want to know and what process you had to end.

Those files must have been there for quite a while, ComboFix looks for files created in the last three months

  • Return to OTMoveIt, right click on the "Paste List of Files/Folders to be moved" window and choose Paste.
  • Click the red Moveit! button.
  • Close OTMoveIt
  • Copy and paste the contents of the results box as a reply to this topic
If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.

**If a reboot was necessary or you needed to Exit before posting the log, you will find a copy of the log at the root of the drive where OTMoveIt is installed, usually at :
C:\\_OTMoveIt\\MovedFiles\\********_******.log
(where "********_******" is the "date_time")

Open OTMoveIt Click Cleanup,
it will now connect to the internet and get a list of files to delete.
When a box pops up click YES.

Please retry the Kaspersky scan

Hello. So um, i ran OTMoveIT and after the clean up, it did reboot, but after the reboot, OTMoveIT had disappeared and the log wasnt there either. There are a number of files in my recycle bin as well, which seem to be some files OTMoveIT has moved. Should i empty the recycle bin? And also should i run kaspersky now? I'm sorry, i'm just a little cautious and confused. Thank you!
