Can you look at my HJT Log

Unread postby demento613 » November 9th, 2007, 7:00 pm

Recently my AOL and such has been acting funny and got noticed saying that someone was logged in under my name also. People also said they got SPAM messages and such from my account. My ebay account also sent out SPAM messages to people. I just ran HJT today and figured someone can take a look. Thanks for your time once again.

And Jotti's is always busy.

I just got Jotti to work and got this message:

The file you uploaded is 0 bytes. It is very likely a firewall or a piece of malware is prohibiting you from uploading this file

Download and Run ComboFix
  • Download Combofix from one of the two links below : (Save it to your Desktop)

    Download 1
    Download 2
  • Then double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it will produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall
ComboFix SHOULD NOT be used without supervision

How long is that scan supposed to take? All I got was a blue window screen for a while, and did not know what it was doing or what was going on. Also when you say do not use it without supervision what do you mean? Should I be at my PC at all times while it scans?

Also I was doing the AVG Scan and found a trojan.agent.ny in 2 of my files, I did not deleted it, but I quarantined it.

ComboFix should only take about 10 minutes at the most.
The "without supervision" part is for when other people read this thread and think "Ooh! that looks like a good tool to use"
It is a good tool, but should only be used if a trained person requires it.
You don't need to watch it though :)
Please reboot your machine and try to run it again

Still no luck with the ComboFix, all it does is have that window up and a flashing curser and I had it like that for about 30 minutes. What should I do?

Also what should I do about my AVG scan? Also should I clean up my cookies?

You should always clean cookies :)
Re AVG -- Can you post the AVG log ?
Open AVG click Reports highlite the latest report then click save.

Forget ComboFix for the moment, something is obviously stopping it running.

Deckard's System Scanner
Download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) to your Desktop. Note: You must be logged onto an account with administrator privileges.
  1. Close all applications and windows.
  2. Double-click on dss.exe to run it, and follow the prompts.
  3. When the scan is complete, two text files will open - main.txt <- this one will be maximized and extra.txt<-this one will be minimized
  4. Copy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of main.txt and the extra.txt to your post. in your reply

The report did not save. I will run a new scan tomorrow and post a report. The Trojans were found here though:

C:\WINNT\system32\gdcbkbdd.exe

and

C:\WINNT\system32\drivers/MmedFilter.sys

As for the other scanner you suggested, I will do that tomorrow also.

My AVG did not generate a report but did find another Trojan, one of which was in my system restore. Should I be deleting these or quarantining?

Delete or Quarantine ends up as the same thing.... It stops the nasty in its tracks :)

Can you post the DSS logs please
