Previously there were some Spywares and Hijackers detected in my PC. I follow some of the steps i found on this forum and everything was resolved. Somehow, i think there are still spywares and stuffs lying around in my system. So, i hope someone out there can help me and give me some advices.

These are my respective logs:

Hi rhapsodyze.

I can not seemuch in your HijackThis log.

The only thing that seems to malware related is the O21 line.

  1. Disable Microsoft AntiSpyware RealTime Potection.
    1. Open Microsoft AntiSpyware.
    2. Click on Tools, Settings.
    3. In the left pane, click on Real-time Protection.
    4. Under Startup Options uncheck Enable the Microsoft AntiSpyware Security Agents on startup (recommended).
    5. Under Real-time spyware threat protection uncheck Enable real-time spyware threat protection (recommended).
    6. After you uncheck these, click on the Save button and close Microsoft AntiSpyware.
    7. Right click on the Microsoft AntiSpyware icon on the taskbar and select Shutdown Microsoft AntiSpyware.

After all of the fixes are complete it is very important that you enable Real-time Protection again.
  2. Open HijackThis and click "Do a System Scan Only" or "Scan". Put a check mark by the items that are listed below.

    O21 - SSODL: SystemCheck2 - {54645654-2225-4455-44A1-9F4543D34545} - (no file)

Close all open windows except HijackThis and then click the "Fix checked" button.

  3. Reboot your computer in Safe Mode. It is important as the fix may not work in Normal Mode:
    1. Restart your computer
    2. After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8 repeatedly.
(If you have a keyboard with a "F Lock" key you need to click it so that the "F" light above the "F Lock" key is lit when you start tapping the "F8" key or it will not work.)
    3. Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
    4. Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

If you have problems booting into Safe Mode and need additional help, see the following site:
      http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/How_to_start_Windows_in_Safe_Mode-tut61.html
For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see the following site:
      http://www.pchell.com/support/safemode.shtml

  4. Show hidden files.

Click Start > My Computer > Tools menu (at top of page) > Folder Options > View tab.
Under "Hidden files and folders" select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck Hide file extensions for known file types.
    Click OK

  5. Delete The following file if you can find it.
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\vbsys2.dll

  6. * Close ALL windows except "HijackThis"
    * SCAN with "HijackThis"
    * POST the new log in this thread using "Add Reply"

Regarding AC3 Fliter see this website to understand what it is. It looks like it works together with your multimedia viewer.

Hi,

I've done all the steps which u have mentioned above and below is my latest HiJackThis log. I scan it in with Windows XP running in normal mode. Do let me know if you want the log that was scanned and obtained in WinXP safe mode. Thanks alot. =)

And oh...btw...do i need to delete this file? ---> C:\WINDOWS\system32\perfcii.ini

I did an online scan using Activescan and if you have notice that, it's actually also one of the "bad" items listed in the Activescan log which i have posted above (the first entry of this thread).

Congratulations. :)

Your log looks clean. Re C:\WINDOWS\system32\perfcii.ini. Yes you can delete the file if you can find it.

Now I want you to clean up some loose ends and take some precautions to avoid being re-infected

  1. You reconfigured Windows to show hidden files you should reset this to its original state using the instructions from here except that
    1. Under the "Hidden files and folders" heading put a mark for "Do not show hidden files and folders".
    2. Uncheck "Display content of system folders"
    3. Check the "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)" option.
  2. Clean out Temporary Files etc. Download System Security Suite from http://www.igorshpak.net/software/3ssetup104.zip. Extract it from the zip file into a folder and double click on sss.exe. Check the boxes under the 'Items to Clear' tab and click 'Clear Selected Items'. Reboot when prompted. It is a good idea to do this every few weeks as a lot of junk collects there over time.
  3. Disable and Enable System Restore.
You are using Windows XP. You should disable and re-enable system restore to make sure there are no infected files found in a restore point left over from what we have just cleaned.

You can find instructions on how to enable and re-enable system restore here:
  4. Make your Internet Explorer more secure - This can be done by following these simple instructions:
    1. From within Internet Explorer click on the Tools menu and then click on Options.
    2. Click once on the Security tab
    3. Click once on the Internet icon so it becomes highlighted.
    4. Click once on the Custom Level button.
      1. Change the Download signed ActiveX controls to Prompt

      2. Change the Download unsigned ActiveX controls to Disable
      3. Change the Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe to Disable
      4. Change the Installation of desktop items to Prompt
      5. Change the Launching programs and files in an IFRAME to Prompt
      6. Change the Navigate sub-frames across different domains to Prompt
      7. When all these settings have been made, click on the OK button.
      8. If it prompts you as to whether or not you want to save the settings, press the Yes button.
    5. Next press the Apply button and then the OK to exit the Internet Properties page.
    Also see the following:

Many exploits are directed at Internet Explorer, you don't have to use it. Try a different browser like
Firefox . It is also worth trying Thunderbird for controlling spam in your e-mail.

[*]Always use a anti-virus program and KEEP IT UPDATED
It is imperative that you update your Antivirus software at least once a week (Even more if you wish). If you do not update your antivirus software then it will not be able to catch any of the new variants that may come out.
This alone can save you a lot of trouble with malware in the future.

[*] Always use a firewall.
I can not stress how important it is that you use a Firewall on your computer.
Without a firewall your computer is susceptible to being hacked and taken over. I am very serious about this and see it happen to often with my clients. Simply using a Firewall in its default configuration can lower your risk greatly.

Be restrictive with granting access to the internet. If you are unsure if the program really needs the access, test it by denying the access and see if this has any negative effects. If not, make the block permanent.

[*]Never run two Antivirus programs or two Firewalls at the same time. They can interfere with each other and cause problems.

[*] [b]MOST IMPORTANT : You Need to keep “Windowsâ€

Hey..

thanks alot!! You guys have been a great help. Without you guys i think i'll have to take the trouble to re-format my harddisk again. =)

by the way, i accidentally installed some spyware and hijacker onto my PC. I managed to delete them away and the scans from Spybot SD and MS-anti-spyware shows that my PC is clean now, but i still have some doubts over it. I will do all the necessary scans and post the logs here later.

will be back.

=)
