Roryman70,
You have AVG, PCTools and AntiVir(Avira) Antivirus apps all running at the same time.
Got to Control Panel Add/Remove and remove two of them, leaving just ONE.

-----------------------------------------------------------
Remove log items with HighjackThis. Start HijackThis.
Click Do System Scan Only. When the Scan is complete, Check the following entries:

O23 - Service: DomainService - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\system32\htbfqyvw.exe (file missing)

Make sure Every other window except HJT is closed (No other tabs showing in the bottom tray), and Click Fix Checked
Click the "X" in the upper right corner of the HiJackThis window to close it.

-----------------------------------------------------------
Stop, Disable and Delete A Service
Go to Start, Run OR Start, Programs, Accessories, Command Prompt and type Services.msc and click OK.
Under the Extended Tab, Scroll down and find the service.

DomainService

Click once on the service to highlight it.
Right-Click on the service. Click on Properties
Select the General tab.
Next to Service Status, click Stop.
Click the Arrow-down tab on the right-hand side of the Start-up Type box.
From the drop-down menu, click on Disabled
Click Apply , then OK

Delete the Service
Open HiJackThis. Click on Config, Misc Tools, Delete an NT Service
Type DomainService in the space provided and click OK
The program will ask you to REBOOT --- Accept.
REBOOT into SAFE MODE. Tap F8 repetitively as soon as it beeps, and choose Safe Mode from the menu.
Sign in to your usual account.
Using Windows Explorer, locate and DELETE the following file (if it still is present):
C:\WINDOWS\System32\htbfqyvw.exe
REBOOT back into Normal Mode

I don't know for sure that your system will be clean, but you have a broken system installation of Windows Media Player.
We do Malware Removal here, and basic system problems are not our specialty.
I would recommend you get the Media Player issues ironed out, and then repost here if you wish for a malware check.
Any of these sites should be able to help you:
Good Hardware/System Help Forums

or
VirtualDr here: http://discussions.virtualdr.com/forumdisplay.php?f=48
or
PCPitStop here : http://forums.pcpitstop.com/index.php?showforum=3

All may require you to register free before posting for help.
They will find it helpful to see your HJT log.

Post back here first if you are not able to follow the instructions above successfully.

Roryman,
In Safe Mode,
-----------------------------------------------------------
Use Add/Remove Programs In Control Panel
From Start, Settings, Control Panel or Start, Control Panel, click Add/Remove Programs.
Highlight each Entry, as follows, one by one, if it exists, and choose Remove :

AVG Free Antivirus
Avira AntiVir

Take extra care in answering questions posed by any Uninstaller. Some questions may be worded to deceive you into Keeping the program.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Post a New HJT Log
Reboot your computer (In Safe Mode If Necessary). Start HijackThis. Click Do System Scan and Save a Log File.
When the Scan is complete, select the whole log (Ctrl-A), copy and paste the log contents in a reply.

We are trying to avoid having to Re-Install Windows. Do you have a Windows CD?

If you did what I instructed about the Installed Program List from CCleaner, there will be an icon (file) on your desktop called install.txt.
Please open it and post the contents in a reply here.
(It will probably open in Notepad if you double click it).

Roryman70,
There is still quite a bit of work to do. Please do the following in sequence.
You can handle it.
-----------------------------------------------------------
We need to rename HijackThis.exe to reveal.exe
Use My Computer (Windows Explorer) to go to the HiJackThis folder
In your case, the HiJackThis folder is: C:\Program Files\\HijackThis\
(double click C:, then double click Program Files, then double click the HijackThis folder)
In the top menu, click View, Details
Right button-click on the file named HijackThis.exe and select Rename.
Type in the new filename as reveal.exe
Hit <Enter> and close MyComputer
-----------------------------------------------------------
Remove log items with HighjackThis. Start HijackThis (reveal.exe).
Click Do System Scan Only. When the Scan is complete, Check the following entries:
(Some of these lines may be missing)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SystemOptimizer] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\oxkgveny.dll",forkonce
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ZSScheduler] RunDll32.exe "C:\Program Files\FBM Software\ZeroSpyware\ZSScheduler.dll", runScheduler C:\Program Files\FBM Software\ZeroSpyware\
O16 - DPF: {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000020050660} - http://207.234.185.217/ABoxInst_int15.exe
O16 - DPF: {A1426AC5-8CE5-4A00-B71E-011D35709AC6} -
O16 - DPF: {B64F4A7C-97C9-11DA-8BDE-F66BAD1E3F3A} -
O20 - AppInit_DLLs: 6741f5de
O23 - Service: iolo System Guard (IOLO_SRV) - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\iolo\System Mechanic 6\IoloSGCtrl.exe

Make sure Every other window except HJT is closed (No other tabs showing in the bottom tray), and Click Fix Checked
Click the "X" in the upper right corner of the HiJackThis window to close it.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Reboot your machine. Choose Safe Mode if you have to.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Remove Program(s) with CCleaner
Open CCleaner.
In the Left Pane, click Tools.
Verify that Uninstall is highlighted in color, or click on it.
Click and Highlight the Following Programs, one at a time, and click the Run Uninstaller button for each one.
Wait for completion of each one before highlighting and Uninstalling the next.

Ad-Aware 2007
<== we can re-install it later if you wish
Cheat Engine 5.3
FrostWire 4.13.1.7 BETA
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 10
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 3
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6

Also choose to Uninstall just ONE of these two:

AVG 7.5
Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security 2007

Even if you choose to Uninstall AVG 7.5, Do NOT Uninstall either of these:
AVG Anti-Rootkit Free
AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5
Take extra care in answering questions posed by any Uninstaller. Some questions may be worded to deceive you into Keeping the program.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Post a New HJT Log
Reboot your computer. Start HijackThis (reveal.exe). Click Do System Scan and Save a Log File.
When the Scan is complete, select the whole log (Ctrl-A), copy and paste the log contents in a reply.
