Silly Question maybe??

Woudl it be too much to have the members or graduates let us knwo which Free Firewall or antivirus/spyware they use? In the manner of a sticky with recommendations or what ever? I think you know what I mean

ChrisRLG has provided a link with pretty much all you will need to answer your request.

If however you are also asking for the purpose of recommendations to clients when you are working on logs then you will of course need a canned speech, one for Anti Virus programs and one for Firewalls.

Here's one of the canned speeches I use when I see no evidence of a Firewall in a clients HijackThis log, you can hunt around the canned speeches here and when you find one for an Anti Virus recommendation ask the person who has it in their canned messages - I'm sure they will let you use it.

Looking at your HijackThis log I do not see evidence of a Firewall.
This may be because you are using the Windows Firewall.
The Windows Firewall only checks incoming traffic to your system so is only doing half the job a good Firewall should be doing.
It is very important that you have a Firewall if you are using the Internet.
I strongly recommend that you disable the Windows Firewall if you are using it and try one of my suggested Firewalls below.

When you have selected which Firewall to download

• Download the program to your desktop
• Disconnect from the Internet
