Because I'm having this severe trojan/adware problem, but when I extract the Ad-Aware file, which is a .ref type, and try to open it, I'm told that windows couldn't open it and I was given an option to select a program from a list to open it with.
What program opens .ref files?
It appears there are many programs that use that file extension. I'm just guessing, but it sounds like you may be trying to open the .ref file before installing the Ad-aware program? I'm really not sure...
