Is there any way mark the topics that are solved in the Archived Hijackthis Board room to differentiate them from the abandoned ones?

It's not really an issue but for want of a better analogy it's like borrowing a book from a library, reading it through only to find the last 20 pages ripped out.

Thats not a bad description.

Unfortunately you will find the same problem in almost every anti-malware forum.

What often happens is they post to more than one forum - and work with the first (or even with two helpers). That wastes a helpers time and makes those topic you have found.

Also once they are 'clean' to their mind (but not the helpers) they want to get back to their latest game - and just disappear.

All very frustrating - but sorry to say, the norm in this field of work.

You mean something like
[solved] or [Dead]

equivalent to
[moved] and [Duplicate]

tags at the beginning of the thread name

Yeah something along those lines or even just mentioning it in the title e.g. "Solved: Help i'm infected".

I must have a peek over there, thanks :)
