Comodo Anti Virus Spyware beta 2.0.11.43

Unread postby JamesFrance » April 4th, 2007, 2:41 pm

Hi,

I have been watching the progress of the Comodo Anti Virus beta testing for some time now. There is no way I could consider myself to have the experience to be a beta tester.

However they have today released the above version for general use and I have installed it. I had been well satisfied with Avast, however Comodo, whose Firewall I have used since having problems with Zone Alarm, seem happy to supply Pro versions, at no cost for personal users.

So far all is running smoothly except that Windows Security Centre cannot recognise it. I have turned that off for now.

There’s a pretty long thread at Wilders about it (although it hasn’t been updated lately): http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=130055

Also, some (many) people seem to have had problems uninstalling both Comodo AV and Comodo firewall. That is being worked on, according to Comodo.

By all accounts, the firewall is pretty good so maybe this new release of their AV is a big improvement. Let us know how you get on with it.

Hi Maik,

Yes I think that thread is quite ancient in respect of CAVS development.

I think it is interesting that there is a new man in charge of it and the very next week a new version on general release.

Hi Maik,

To see how I am getting on with CAVS, it may be best for you to read the following thread on the Comodo forum.
