Hi Vino, sorry for the delay !
Anyway, i followed your instructions, but when i got to,
C:\Documents and Settings\Login Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{CLSID}\Microsoft\Outlook Express, it said "this folder is empty"
Don't know where that leaves us or what it even means in the great scheme of things !

very many thanks............johno.

Hi johno

It's possible that your OE folder location is not the 'default'.

To check where it is:

Start > Search > click All files and folders

In the All or part of file name box type *.dbx
In the Look in drop down, select C:
Click the down arrow next to More Advanced Options
Click Search hidden files and folders
Click Search

The search will list all the .dbx files. There may be one or two locations but the folder with the most files in (and certainly the OE folder names you recognise) will be the location of your OE files.

Take a note of this location and repeat the previous instructions using this new location.

Please let me know how you get on.

Hi Vino, well i've followed your instructions and found the OE files, but it seems they are just empty files, the file names are there but no content is inside them.

Very many thanks...........johno.

Hi johno

Though they are empty, they could be corrupted.

Have you tried moving the .dbx files as described in my post >here< and seeing if OE opens?
