Hello, and welcome to the forums! :)

Please print out the following instructions so you'll have them readily at hand...
  • Close all programs leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following, making sure you get them all and not any others by mistake:

    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = C:\WINDOWS\PCHealth\HelpCtr\System\PANELS\BLANK.HTM

    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = C:\WINDOWS\PCHealth\HelpCtr\System\PANELS\BLANK.HTM

    O2 - BHO: CExtension Object - {0019C3E2-DD48-4A6D-ABCD-8D32436323D9} - (no file)

    O2 - BHO: ohb - {9ADE0443-2AB2-4B23-A3F8-AC520773DE12} - (no file)

    O9 - Extra button: PartyPoker.com - {B7FE5D70-9AA2-40F1-9C6B-12A255F085E1} - C:\Program Files\PartyPoker\PartyPoker.exe (file missing)

    O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: PartyPoker.com - {B7FE5D70-9AA2-40F1-9C6B-12A255F085E1} - C:\Program Files\PartyPoker\PartyPoker.exe (file missing)

It may be helpful to know that when you put an item in your Trusted Zone, it has pretty much full access to your computer... Are you sure you trust these sites to that degree?? If you're not sure, and/or you do not need these in your trusted zone to facilitate access, or you did not knowingly permit this access yourself, then please fix the following two O15 entries....

    O15 - Trusted Zone: http://www.mapquest.com
    O15 - Trusted Zone: http://mfr.MLXchange.com

    O16 - DPF: {972BB342-14A7-4660-83C1-51DDBEE171DB} - http://www.pacimedia.com/install/pcs_0002.exe

    O16 - DPF: {DC187740-46A9-11D5-A815-00B0D0428C0C} - http://ds1.downloadtech.net/cn1060/pcpowerscan.cab

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

  • Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them:

    C:\Program Files\PartyPoker\ <<<<----Folder

  • Exit Explorer and reboot your system.

  • Next, download, install, and run CCleaner (so the scans won't take as long because CCleaner will clear out temporary files) *NOTE* CCleaner deletes EVERYTHING out of temp/temporary folders. If you have anything in a temp folder, back it up or move it to a permanent folder prior to running CCleaner!

Download CCleaner from here to clean temp files from your computer.
    • Double click on the file to start the installation of the program.
    • Select your language and click OK, then next.
    • Read the license agreement and click I Agree.
    • Click next to use the default install location. Click Install then finish to complete installation.
    • Double click the CCleaner shortcut on the desktop to start the program.
    • On the "Windows" tab, under "Internet Explorer," uncheck "Cookies" if you do not want them deleted. (If deleted, you will likely need to reenter your passwords at all sites where a cookie is used to recognize you when you visit).
    • If you use either the Firefox or Mozilla browsers, the box to uncheck for "Cookies" is on the Applications tab, under Firefox/Mozilla.
    • Click on "Options" at the top of the window, then click on the "advanced" button. deselect "Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours." Click on "OK."
    • Click Run Cleaner to run the program.
    • Caution: It is not recommended that you use the "Issues" feature unless you are very familiar with the registry as it has been known to find legitimate items.
    • After CCleaner has completed its process, click Exit.

  • Download, install, update, configure and run a scan with Ad-aware SE v1.06:
    1. Download and Install AdAware SE Personal, keeping the default options. However, some of the settings will need to be changed before your first scan.
    2. Close ALL windows except Ad-Aware SE.
    3. Click on the‘world’ icon at the top right of the Ad-Aware SE window and let AdAware SE update the reference list for the adware and malware.
    4. Once the update is finished click on the ‘Gear’ icon (second from the left at the top of the window) to access the preferences/settings window:
      1. In the ‘General’ window make sure the following are selected in green:
        1. Under Safety:
          • Automatically save log-file
        2. Automatically quarantine objects prior to removal
        3. Safe Mode (always request confirmation)
      2. Under Definitions:
        • Prompt to update outdated definitions - set the number of days
    5. Click on the ‘Scanning’ button on the left and select in green:
      1. Under Driver, Folders & Files:
        • Scan Within Archives
      2. Under Select drives & folders to scan:
        • choose all hard drives
      3. Under Memory & Registry: all green
        • Scan Active Processes
        • Scan Registry
        • Deep Scan Registry
        • Scan my IE favorites for banned URL’s
        • Scan my Hosts file
    6. Click on the ‘Advanced’ button on the left and select in green:
      1. Under Shell Integration:
        • Move deleted files to recycle bin
      2. Under Logfile Detail Level: all green
        • include addtional object information
        • DESELECT - include negligible objects information
        • include environment information
      3. Under Alternate Data Streams:
        • Don't log streams smaller than 0 bytes
        • Don't log ADS with the following names: CA_INOCULATEIT
    7. Click the ‘Tweak’ button and select in green:
      1. Under ‘Scanning Engine’:
        • Unload recognized processes during scanning
        • Scan registry for all users instead of current user only
      2. Under ‘Cleaning Engine’:
        • Let Windows remove files in use at next reboot
      3. Under Log Files:
        • Include basic Ad-aware SE settings in logfile
        • Include additional Ad-aware SE settings in logfile
        • Please do not check: Include Module list in logfile
    8. Click on ‘Proceed’ to save the settings.
    9. Click ‘Start’
    10. Choose 'Perform Full System Scan'
    11. DESELECT "Search for negligible risk entries", as negligible risk entries (MRU's) are not considered to be a threat.
    12. Click ‘Next’ and Ad-Aware SE will scan your hard drive(s) with the options you have selected and clean automatically.
    13. If Ad-Aware SE finds bad entries, you will receive a list of what it found in the window
    14. Right-click on the list and choose Select All
    15. Click the Next button to finish removing the items that were found
    16. When finished, REBOOT to complete the removal of what Ad-Aware SE found

    • Go here to perform an online scan with Kaspersky Online and allow it to remove all that it may find.
    • Post back a fresh HijackThis log and the log from the Kaspersky scan and we will take another look.

Hello, Clint!

You're very welcome, :) and this log looks much better.

You can delete the items that were quarantined by Norton. No point in keeping them. Also, there's this one entry that can be fixed with HijackThis. No big deal, just helps to keep everything tidy...

Be sure you close all open programs and then scan with HijackThis and place a check mark next to the following entry, then click "Fix checked."

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =

Next, let's get rid of the file and folder, found by a Panda online scan, that you listed in your first post...

Restart your system in Safe Mode by continually tapping the F8 key as your system reboots. Then, using Windows Explorer, find and delete if found (these may have been removed by the preceding fixes) the following...

C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\PcPowerScan.exe <<<--- File

C:\Documents and Settings\Clinton VanNest\Start Menu\Programs\AdDestroyer <<<--- Folder

Empty your Recycle Bin then reboot into normal mode when finished.

Everything should be clean now. How is your system running?
