**Turn off System Restore**
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer
Click Properties
Click the System Restore tab.
Check "Turn off System Restore"
Click Apply, then click OK and Reboot

**Turn ON System Restore**
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer
Click Properties
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check "Turn off System Restore"
Click Apply, then click OK and Reboot

My system is running much better now thanks although I still have the same problem with firefox, it will not load. I uninstalled it and downloaded again from the link you provided but I can't get it to load. I don't want to use IE, any idea whats wrong?

Just after this infection I purchased pest patrol from etrust on the recommendation of a friend, is it any good do you know? and is it wise to download and use spyware blaster as well or will I get a conflict.

If I download JAVA Runtime Environment from sun microsytems is it possible to uninstall Microsofts Java virtual machine first?

For my peace of mind do you know what the BAD_POOL_CALLER error message was?

Running both of those will be fine. You just don't want to run Too many at one time.

Check if Microsoft VM is installed
Go to Start, Control Panel, Internet Options
Click on the Advanced tab
Check if Microsoft VM is listed.
If Microsoft VM is not listed, you do not have Microsoft VM on your system.
If Microsoft VM is installed, you can go here :
Uninstall MS VM
or you can check Sun Java and uncheck MS VM

It could be a Device Driver conflict. I suspect it may have been caused by the fix.

OK that worked well, I had a bad theme on firefox which once I deleted now loads fine. I run 3 user accounts and firefox looks slightly different on my two limited user accounts compared to my administrator account (all 3 accounts are using the basic default theme). I'm looking on mozillazine for why that might be, any ideas?

By the way I've noticed that on my other non-administrator user accounts etrust pest patrol generates an error message " The user account that you are logged into with does not have the required settings to enable etrust pest patrol to change files on your computer. This means etrust pestpatrol is unable to to create logs, change registry settings or quarantine pests. You must consult the computer administrator to enable etrust pest patrol to run with user accounts" I'm not sure how to do this?

I don't have MS VM installed after all (already using Sun) so all good there.

I have never used ETrust but in the settings should be something to enable that !
