I have Roxio Easy CD & DVD creator 6... and today i was trying to add some data files to an open cd-r with files on it already... well i added a few more files and hit record ... and i got a message stating something about not detecting a recorder to check if its plugged.... or update the driver... I then checked at the bottom beside the burn button.. a drive icon where you can change default recorder.. it said "none" now i remember it saying my burner??? I tried to see if i can select mine again but nothing???

Whats up with that... do i need to update my drive??? anyone experience this problem???

Sounds like you may need to restore or repare the driver program.

Those are not the best of my helping knowledge.

If a Dell try the hardware sections of that forum, if not try PCPitstop - they are very good with such issues.

... Did you put the existing files on the CD from your PC. I've had that happen when the CD was created from another PC and the session was left open. I couldn't access the CD until it was finalized on the original PC.

Double Click "My Computer" and see if the CD drive is listed.
Try a Music CD in the drive.

Yes, the CD Drive is listed in "my computer" it reads cd's and stuff as far as i know. I guess the problem is just in the burning software. Roxio CD and DVD creator 6.

Its so weird why is the software not recognizing the drive? it never happened before...

I'd try a blank CD.
You might need to re-install Roxio.
