Invision Power Board

Unread postby Mak » September 23rd, 2006, 12:34 am

Hey,

This is a suggestion.

I think that the Invision Power Board is much better then this type of board. It's easier to get around and understand, much better emoticons, etc. An example of a invision power board could be found HERE. It just looks so much better and organised than these forums, IMO. Well, thats my suggestion..please reply on your opinions on this.

Regards,

Have you tried phpBB3 - it knocks the spots off of IBP and will be out shortly. Its in beta2 at the moment.

Also this software does lots of things you CANNOT do with IPB.

With IPB you cannot give a standard member access to running a usergroup for access to hidden rooms - all that has to be done by an admin. Is many things like that where phpBB is miles ahead of IPB etc. even with this old out of date phpBB2 software.

As far as I am concerned phpBB is MUCH more versatile than IPB.

I actually find IPB difficult to navigate and use, and find that it's Slower than phpBB boards*

For this type of forum I don't think we really need to be too concererned about fancy feature like emoticons and fancy profiles, Since most people come here to have their systems cleaned, and I doubt any of the helpers here are overly concerend about fancy profile features

*And I don't like phpBB3 either

I like simplicity 8)
