I am useing peoplepc , for my dial up, I could not get there progam & dialer to work,so I deleeted them from control panel and made conection with there phone numbers. As I told spotcheckbilly once in awhile I can conect to internet, but it is usually at 4.8 , 9.6 and then it will disconect after 3 or 4min. And then I might have to try to log on for 10 to 15 times before it will conect again, same thing over &over.
I have a desk top that uses the same phone line (one at a time) and it works fine it conects at 45.2 , 48.2 and dont have any disconects at all.
I asked spotcheckbilly about Java, is this something that I have to have, because I dont seem to have it listed in programes, its on my desk top that my wife uses but not the laptop.
Again thanks for your help B camp

sorry, didn't get an email notification. It ended up in my spam filter.

I think you should try and get the peoplesoft software working again.

How much free space do you have on your computer?
Do you have access to broadband and a USB pen drive?
