Sony and integrated "rootkit" :|

Note that the patch only reveals the Rootkit, it does not remove it. To do that it's necessary to contact Sony, and if you do remove it, you can no longer play copyright protected CDs. Note also that Sony will not recompense you for the now useless CD that you've purchased.

I don't call this much of a step forward. This just shows what contempt Sony has for its customers.
Update on Mark's experience with the uninstaller for this rootkit.
