Zone Alarm (Free) and Avast (Free) compatibility issue...

When my Norton Internet Security expired, I tried installing Zone Alarm firewall and Avast! Antivirus software. Right after installing both, I immediately get this notice from Avast! stating that one of it's real-time Shields (Avast has WebShield, Standard Shield, P2P + Email scanners running) were not compatible with something from Zone Alarm. Also in the alert, it stated that Avast and Zone Alarm were currently "working together for a viable solution".

I don't know if anyone else has encountered that sort of dilemma, but just letting you know if you are planning to install both as your firewall and antivirus software.

That would point to why people complain about zonealarm not working properly.


Ive used ZoneAlarm Professional and later AVAST as an ondemand scanner (for a day) when ZoneAlarm wasnt on the computer (switched that for Kerio) but never the two together.
