"At the end of the day "

My real pet hate
Phrase that i hear at work from the surgeons "It is only going to take few minutes"..............few hours on the line and we are still operating :D

I would be more worried to hear

"Hang on we seem to have some spare bits left over "

We sometimes hear words like "OOOPs" and "What is that?"
As a matter of fact

Especially how people slur it together so its like:

Asa matter offact
I know what I am doing...

every time I have heard someone say that.......they didn't!

Gringo
"Take me out to the ballgame" the beginning of one of my least favorite songs

or

"4chan" or "moot". just google it.
"sure whatever"

:x
"On the other hand...."

What??? theres four fingers and a thumb on the other hand... whats that got to do with anything!!!
"Tomorow's weather will be slightly different from what we've seen today" (means instead of being warm and sunny, it'll be cold, wet, and blowing a gale).

One that amused me no end was when a customer's project was described as being a case of "initial scope misunderstanding followed by scope creep" (we don't have a clue what's going on).

When someone says, "On the other hand..." then just interject "...there are different fingers"
"I'll call you back" is my pet hate usually when you're making a complaint about something. You know they're not about to.

My usual reply to that is ............ "tell you what, you give me your number, because I know you're busy, so if you forget I'll phone you back" .............. (and I will phone you back, again and again and again and again. Because now I've got your number I'll seldom be off the phone to you until we get this problem resolved).
That "I'll call you back" sounds famililar

Additionally:
Emails and PMs that say "Help!" or "Help me!" without additional information.
Or emails and PMs stating "I have a question." without additional information.

I'm happy to help or to answer questions, but it's such a waste of my time and the time of the asker not to tell from the beginning what it's all about. :dontknow:
"We are currently experiencing a high volume of calls"
"Please hang on and a technician WILL answer your call shortly"

Yeah, right. That pig on Runway 4 has just received clearance for takeoff.

Needless to say, these are recorded messages that get interspersed with 'music' for 8 minutes or so, after which time the phone goes dead. Continue to hang on, and it changes to an 'unobtainable' signal.

Maybe that 'Helpdesk' has come down with the swine flu :bom:
Mine would be
"Whatever!"
AND THE DREADED
"We'll call you back"
as well as
"Please hold, all representatives are handling other calls. You will be answered in the order in which your call came through"
"The cheque's in the post"
