Christmas ready/kitchen done:

Unread postby Bob4 » December 23rd, 2007, 8:51 am

My wife and I were tossed as to start this so close to Christmas. But we did and it's done.
Started in October. Then with all of this going on, at the last minute we had to have Thanksgiving dinner here too. For 10 people.
The link below is a Power point slide show of the progress on my kitchen ,that's now done just in time.
Finished it Saturday before Christmas. That was close.

NOTE: For those who don't have power point you can get a free viewer from Microsoft here
Download and install.

On dial-up 6.5M is too big a DL I'm afraid, but glad you got your kitchen finished Bob. Have fun in it over Christmas.

I only replaced mine a few years back, so my wife only has to wait another 30 or 40 years for me to be in the mood to do it again. :D :D

Heres the quick before and after version.
Gary, I have no intentions of doing this ever again.

Wow! Certainly changes the feel of it quite a bit doesn't it. I like how the fridge is fitted into the cupboards.

AHH The granite... That was like having a baby when they put it in. Much easier to wipe also. ;)

Thanks for the pics Bob, looks like a really nice job. :thumbright:

Know what you mean about never wanting to go through it again. Haven't shown the pics to my wife, she wouldn't like the language I'd use when she suggests that we could make a few changes as well. :D

Gary I'm with you 110% on that. As I'm sure anyone who has done this understands completely.

Awesome work Bob!!

How are you with bathrooms?? Seeing your just down the coast from me, what do you say about coming up and taking care of a little project that I have been putting off for a very long time...... ;) ;)

My wife would be very grateful (but not as much as I would be).....

As a little incentive I will throw in a case of Corona! (yep saw the bottle :D) Image

Let me know when you want to get started....

Funny freshman ! Love it.
Actually a tile came off our guest bathroom in the shower 1 week before the kitchen was done. At the time alls I could do was shake my head.
Needless to say I will be tackling that next after the holidays and the kiddies are back off to college.
I took a peak and it's going to be a complete gut around the bath itself. Looks as if they used drywall instead of cement board when they built the place. Never did it . But rest assure I'll let ya know.
BTW... off the corona now. Switched to Captain and diet cokes.. easier on the gut. Yup diet in the works now too.
Repair the house and me.

Ahh....I see now you got a little Captain in you....

All of those home projects are always a little easier when the Captain is helping out!!

Oh, well it was worth a shot. Guess I will have to break down and tackle the 'ol honey do list by meself.

Great work on the kitchen once again, I really do like those cabinets.

Merry Christmas,

Never ever, ever, ever break down and give in Ken, it just uncorks a whole flood of other "essential" jobs your wife has been holding back for when you "softened".

I've just had all the doors and windows replaced in my place, and already my missus has determined that we (funny I never see her doing any of it) need to completely restructure the whole house as a consequence.

You should know by now that nothing irritates a wife more than seeing her husband with any spare time whatsoever, and that she'll always have a deluge of things for you to do if once you weaken. :D :D
