My shredder cross cuts Nel, so what it produces is pretty much like confetti. Good for weddings if you're a cheapskate (like me) :D , but kinda rules out the sellotape route for re-construction. Once things are shredded they're history Image.

Any format will be fine. I have some good programs here that can convert to any format without losing quality of the file. :)

Just recieved a second reply from my MP, with a copy of a letter from Vernon Coaker, Minister resonsible for this policy area (their words, not mine !!)

The goverment takes seriuosly all crimes committed by means of the internet, and welcomes the views of the committee that all groups - industry, law enforcment, and the public - have a part to play in preventing and detection of crime. The goverment has responded to this report in command paper 7234 [Cm 7234] which can be accessed through http://www.official-documents.gov.uk/menu/cmd2007.htm

The goverment fully supports the work of GetSafeOnLine, and has provided, and will continue to provide ministerial support for the initiative. We believe that through working closely with law enforcement industry and the public we can reduce internet crime and limit the effect of malicious software.

Nellie2 is very busy at this moment. Although that doesn't stop you from letting us know of any developments in this thread. :)

Either me or Chris will pass on any developments to MalwareComplaints as we have a dedicated thread there somewhere. Probably be me as Chris is also busy.

Keep up the pressure and thanks for taking the time to contact your MP.

As usual, lots of pointless discussion and very little useful action, no more than I'd expect from officialdom. Do we wonder that the criminals and ne'er do wells rule the Web when Governments act so slowly and do so little.

But then what do we expect from the associated gasbags we elect, their only real talent has ever been that they can talk. Trouble is they've never realised that talk on its own is not enough, occasionally it's necessary that they actually do something as well.
