Go to a brewfest and you will be able to try micro brews. Too bad you weren't in Ashville, NC last weekend as we had over 200 breweries represented, including Rogue. Gizmo

Best pint I've had in years was on a visit to Prague last year.

Just try Czech "Pilsner"... WOW!!

I think the "best" beer in the USA is a tie between the Budweiser made Michelob Amber Bock and Haffenreffer Private Stock.
Both are reminiscent of very good Bitters from the other side of the pond, except of course they are cold brewed.

Don't partake as much as I used to, so I don't want to waste the effort on crummy stuff. And I agree with Nick on the dregs.

The only place to get real beer is the UK

yes I do know that other places sell beer..........but we have ALE

I am totally ignoring lager and beir as a matter of principle

The best three are
  • Usher's Ruby
  • Exmoor Beast
  • Old Peculiar

My top three would be:
  • Black Sheep - Best Bitter
  • Black Sheep - Riggwelter
  • Woodforde's - Wherry Bitter
Yes - I am a big fan of Black Sheep (see my avatar). :D

I am also rather partial to a bottle (or two) of Pelforth Brun when in France.

I would say anything above 5.5% myself.............. :D

But seriously, having to put up with Spanish lager beers, I yearn for CAMRA beers, even if they aren't the best selling beers :D

Here in Brazil, I drink Brahma http://www.brahma.com.br/sitebrahma/car ... fault.aspx
In Europe, I like to drink Jupiler and Gueuze Belle Vue or Mort Subite (Belgian beers)

Now now we'll have less of that nit picking Nellie2

It's wet, it's alcoholic, and after a while it makes you walk in a peculiar fashion - it's beer enough for me !

I agree completely.
But I would put Theakstons "Old Peculiar" at the top of the list.

It's probably because I don't often get any Exmoor or Usher's :D
Old Peculiar is my regular drink now, since my local Wetherspoons sell it for £1.50 a pint

WHAT I pay getting on for £3, so when I get it I savour it and enjoy it more. I suppose I am paying for the benefit of living in the middle of nowhere.
