Hey all, Well, I'm finally back up and running with most of my programs reinstalled. I lost a couple of my older graphics programs, but other than that, everything seems to be running quite nicely. The bad news is, starting next Friday, I will be out of commission for a couple of weeks. Many of you know about the my struggle with diabetes and this is the latest chapter. To increase the circulation in my lower leg (the left one anyway), I need to have a bypass. They will take a piece of undamaged vein (or use surgical tubing if I don't have one) and bypass a blocked section. The surgery itself does not sound too bad. A small, about a quarter of an inch, incision just below my knee, then one about the same size above my ankle. Then they use a guide wire very similar to what an electrician uses to snake the vein or tubing around the blocked area. I'm told I will only be in the hospital for two to three days depending on how well I progress. Then, approximately 2 weeks at home, during whic

Thank you again, one and all for your prayers and your well wishes. To anyone who has had similar difficulties: if I have missed your post I truly apologize. I keep positive thoughts for everyone that I have met since I ran headlong down this rather scary rabbit hole. I'm constantly reminded how tightly knit this community is when I see practically everyone's name at every site I'm registered to. Pretty amazing really.

A side note to Sailbad the Sinner:

If your wife is and so much denial after everything that you have gone through, perhaps I should e-mail her a picture of what my left foot looks like. Not pretty, not pretty at all. Just kidding, I wouldn't subject ANYONE to something like that. LOL
