Locked OS Disk

Unread postby normsuss » May 20th, 2016, 1:56 pm

Locked Disk. This problem arose over two months ago.

After what appeared to me to be a Microsoft update: The following day, as I attempted to boot the computer into win 10 pro, 64 bit, the blue screen of death appeared and stated the the computer must be rebooted to fix the problem of 'no boot'. This became a never ending cycle. I attempted various standard fixes, but each time I received a message that the disk with the OS was locked. It was inaccessible. I researched the 'locked disk' problem on the web, but couldn't find an answer that anyone found that fixed their problem. (Perhaps that wasn't really a Microsoft update, but maybe malware).
I am typing this on a different computer, because I can't get into the one with Win 10 pro, and the locked disk. However, I booted a Linux disk on that machine, and I was able to find some files on the machine with the locked disk. But, I have no clue how to unlock the OS disk. Do any of you experts have an answer to this problem?
TIA, Normsuss
