Something is not right

Unread postby starter005 » February 8th, 2016, 11:43 am

I'm having issues with my PC. I have a Dell i5-3330CPU@3GHz with 8GB RAM x64 running Win 10. It just doesn't seem to be working right. Today I went on and my taskbar at the bottom of the screen had no icons and I had to reboot a couple of times before they showed up. I've also been having a lot of trouble with yahoo crashing in Microsoft Edge as well as Yahoo mail freezing. I ran all my anti viral and Malware programs but nothing shows. When I ran HiJack I got this message: For some reason your system denied access to the Hosts file. If any Hijacked domains are in this file, HiJack may not be able to fix this. If that happens, you need to edit the file yourself. To do this, Click START, RUN, and type: notepad C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts and press ENTER. Find the line(s) HiJack This Reports and delete them. Save the file as 'HOSTS' (with quotes) and reboot. I didn't do it because I wasn't sure this was legit.

Thank you for choosing MalwareRemoval.com for your malware removal needs.

Please take the time to read this post, ALL USERS OF THIS FORUM MUST READ THIS FIRST, which you should have read before posting for help. Specifically this topic, which explains what kind of log we need and where to post it.
Unfortunately HijackThis is no longer appropriate for diagnosing the more modern Operating Systems being used.

Once you have created a new FRST logs, please post them in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
