Administrator rights :/

Unread postby RunningVirus » March 28th, 2013, 7:03 am

Hi Malwareremoval,

Hope everything is going great for the site.

I have a problem, when i want to uninstall a program. I always get following comment: 'You don't have administrator rights which is required for this uninstall, please log on as an administrator'.

What should I do now? Because as far as I know, I am the only administrator on my pc.

Best Regards
RunningVirus

More info, just tried to boot in safe mode, and then I was able to uninstall the program... Is there still anything I can do, to make sure, my pc is running normally?

Hi RunningVirus,

OTM

  1. Please download OTM.exe...by Old Timer. Save it to your desktop.
  2. Double click on OTM.exe to run it (Right click and choose "Run as administrator" in Vista/Win7).
If you receive the "Open File - Security Warning", please press Run.
  3. Please copy and paste the text in the Code box below, into OTM (1).
Warning: Do not type it out... errors could damage your machine.
    Code: Select all
    :Files
    set /c
    net localgroup /c
    net user /c

Please refer to this image to use OTM.exe

    Image
  4. Click on MoveIt! (2)
  5. The end results of the processing will be in 2 places:
    • The Results window on the right side of the OTM screen.
    • A log (text) file created in "C:\_OTM\MovedFiles\mmddyyyy_hhmmss.log"
  6. Copy all the text from the Results window... or if the computer rebooted, open the log file.
  7. Open Notepad, paste the OTM results (or log file contents) into the Notepad file, save it on your desktop.
  8. Click Exit (3) when done.
  9. Please paste the entire content from the OTM (Results) window (Notepad file) or the OTM log file, in your next reply.

Hi RunningVirus,

The logs confirm that your user name Christoph is indeed an Administrator.

We do not need OTM now, to remove it run OTM then click on CleanUp!

Do you still have a problem removing programs, if so is it some or all programs?

Do you have any problems installing programs?

If the problem has only recently occurred it may be worth using System Restore to go back to a restore point before the problem started otherwise the only solution may be to reinstall Windows.
