Google search opens different webpage than what I selected

Unread postby kmpage28 » November 10th, 2012, 12:32 pm

I use Mozilla as my internet explorer program and for several weeks, when I do a Google search and then select a link, I am brought to a completely different webpage (not at all what I selected). I have a Norton virus program (which I ran and it did not find anything) also per the recommendation of a friend, I ran the "House Call" virus scan which didn't find anything. But, obviously, there is something wrong and someone said it sounded like a Malware problem. Any suggestions? It is getting increasingly annoying to never be able to select a website from a google search without ending up at some other site...Thanks!

As your problem sounds like it is most likely related to a malware issue, I suggest you read these instructions for creating the appropriate logs, and then start a new topic in the Malware Removal Room and wait for a helper to assist you.
