[SOLVED] Knocked Offline Upon Reboot WinXP

Unread postby Raptor » March 12th, 2012, 2:33 am

I recently got assistance to remove a Backdoor.bot from this old computer and it was successful but ever since, every time I reboot, I have to reconnect to my server. I have wireless Internet and this computer has a lan card to connect. This did not occur prior to the malware removal. Is there a cure, Please?

Try looking at your Wireless Zero Configuration: service... see if it is set to automatic.

Click Start menu - select Run
type services.msc, press Enter.

Your services should be displayed...
Scroll down to Wireless Zero Configuration.
Set to Automatic
Click Apply

Thank you for your reply, Wingman.
BINGO!!
Now that I recall, this "disconnection" (setting it to "manual") was an exercise early on in curing my .bot problem.
Thank you so much for your help.
End of problem
