Thank you for the patient thorough help. My computer worked like it did when it was new.
But when I tried to donate using the link provided, my cursor jumped and the page seemed to reload as I started typing in my first name. It happened in the blink of an eye, twice. Then it let me type out my name. However, a glance down at the lower left corner of the window revealed the word 'error' so I stopped and closed the window.
