Unread postby ohdang888 » June 12th, 2008, 12:05 am

Hey.

Whats the best security application to protect a home computer.

AVG?
Trend Micro?
Ad-Ware?

I know that you need mulitple, because each app protects and removes different things... but in general, whats a good combination?

Thanks.

Hi and welcom.:)

First, you have to have only 1 Anti Virus 1 Anti Spyware and 1 Firewall only on the PC.
Running more than one of each type causes conflict between them as well as slows the system down.
What I use is in my signature below. They are free, and also have paid versions if you like.

There are many which are good and others may suggest.
What to figure is what works best for your PC. Also check our forum on updates for ideas.
Nod32 I know is good, many like AVG.
I would also avoid security Suites, all in one packages, as there are viruses and such that can knock out your Anti Virus or Firewall is bypassed. If using a Suite, your whole security would be knocked out till system clean again.

Hope that helps.
