I run W XP pro..and my CPU randomly goes to 100% why does this happen? What can I do about it?

Like when you are using Firefox? Scanning with antivirus or anti-spyware?

There have also been some issues with 100% CPU usage related to a Microsoft update. This issue has not yet been completely resolved.
