I think the only part left to do was the installation of Java5 update7 which I downloaded but hit a snag and I have done 3 printscreens to show you.

How can I show you the p/screens and in case it helps, I thought it was wise to UNinstall a JRE 6 before so I dont know if I have messed up?

Hi,

As images cannot be directly embeded into messages on this site, you need to host the images somewhere and them link to them in your message using the Img button.

Like so:-

You may find the your ISP offers space for this as part of your account, or you can use a site like PhotoBucket http://img42.photobucket.com/.

Hi again,

I've had a look at the screen captures, and I think that in both cases it's simply a corrupted download. It happens!

As an alternative, you can get the complete Java package from http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp. The download, instructions and verification links are all on that page.

What I would normally do is now remove ANY sign of installed prog and download a fresh one. But I could not remove java from program files, I have lots of progs to help remove including add/remove, should I try.

I did search for "java" in regseeker so I could remove but there were hundreds of files, so I was scared to, what do you suggest.
