Unread postby DevinSmith » August 27th, 2019, 7:15 am

hello,

The issue started when I tried to unsubscribe to an email. Edge started acting up, and now it won't stay open. I tried running some of the suggested tools and each time it crashes. what should I do?

Hello DevinSmith,

My apologies for the delay in getting to your topic. If you still need help, please post do the following..

  • Download FRST to a USB flash drive.
  • Download FRST64 to a USB flash drive.
  • Plug the USB drive into the infected machine.

Boot your computer into Recovery Environment

  • Please follow the instructions ... HERE ... that explain how to open a Command window in Recovery Environment.
  • Once the Command window is open.
    • Type notepad then hit Enter.
    • Notepad will open.
      • Click File > Open then select Computer.
      • Note down the drive letter for your USB Drive.
      • Close Notepad.
  • Back in the command window ....
    • Type e:/frst.exe and hit Enter (where e: is replaced by the drive letter for your USB drive)
    • Type e:/frst64.exe and hit Enter (where e: is replaced by the drive letter for your USB drive)
    • FRST will start to run.
      • When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
      • Press Scan button.
      • When finished scanning it will make a log FRST.txt on the flash drive.
  • Close the command window.
  • Boot back into normal mode and post me the FRST.txt log please.

If you don't require help anymore, I would be grateful if you could let me know, so that I can close this topic.

Due to a lack of response, this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
