If you set malwareremoval.com and cloudflare.com as trusted in NoScript, you should find you're able to preview posts OK.

Click on the NoScript icon on your Address Bar in Firefox (blue S with a no-entry sign and a number) and a drop down menu of all the "processes/sites" you're script blocking when you access this site will show. Set mawareremoval.com and cloudflare.com to trusted (no need to do it with any of the others).

An alternative, if you don't want to set us permanently as trusted, is to click on the NoScript icon, and then click on the red ! which will allow scripts to work in the currently open tab in your browser, until you close that tab, at which point all scripts will be blocked again.

Hi Gary,

Thank you. The links on your website now work :)

Deleting history from the address bar still doesn't work (it doesn't depend on NoScript, I guess).
Apart from this, my main issue back to my first post is still to find if there is anything messed up in my laptop or router.

For that I'll leave you in mAL_rEm018's very capable hands.

The only reason I interjected is because I use NoScript myself, so I knew how to get around the problems it causes here at MWR.

Hi rbd,

Thank you for your patience. There shouldn't be any more big delays.

OK, concerning removing the history through the address bar, this is more a software problem and not malware related. You could remove the history in the following way:

  • Open the View history, saved bookmarks, and more icon at the top-right corner.
  • Select History from the drop-down menu.
  • You can now delete the website history from there.

Or we can reset Firefox and see if that clears the issue.

In the following steps we will reset your Firefox browser, therefore I advise you to backup any bookmarks before you follow the steps below:

Refreshing Firefox
  • Please open the main menu button, located at the top-right corner of the browser.
  • Select Help from the drop-down menu.
  • Click on Troubleshooting Information.
  • Select Refresh Firefox...
  • A confirmation window will appear, please click on Refresh Firefox.
  • Once the process is finished, select Finish.

Don't re-install your extensions right away. Go to a few websites and try to remove history from the address bar. If the problem is still there, we will try something different. However, if you are no longer experiencing any problems, you can re-install everything.

-----------------------------------------
In your next reply, I would like to see..
  • Did you have any difficulty following my instructions?
  • If you have decided to proceed with the reset, are you still experiencing the issue mentioned before?

Hi mAL,

I did backup my favorites from Firefox, then followed your instructions on resetting FF. But unfortunately it didn't work.

Just to make sure I understand correctly, you were able to successfully perform the reset but the problem is still there. Is that correct?

I was actually in the process of writing instructions to re-install Firefox from scratch. I've had this situation in the past where resetting doesn't fix the issue and this is usually my next step. Would you consider doing this? Unless you were talking about re-installing Windows?

Hi mAL,

No, I meant reinstalling FF. But I do need your help on this please.
Let me know how best to do it.
One of the extensions was from my antivirus avast, so I'm keen to reinstall that one back too at the earliest possibility.

Hi rbd,

Removing a program in Windows 7
  • Click the Star Menu and select Control Panel.
  • Click Programs, then Programs and Features.
  • Select the following programs:
    Mozilla Firefox 68.0.1
  • Select Uninstall.
  • When prompted select Yes.
  • Answer any questions attentively.
  • When the process is finished, please restart your computer.

next...

Reinstalling Firefox
  • Please download Firefox from Here
  • Save it to your Desktop.
  • Right-Click the file and select Run as Administrator.
  • Wait for the software to install.
  • Once the installation process is completed, Firefox will open.

If Firefox works as it should, feel free to re-install your extensions. Do you need instruction for doing this?

Hi mAL,

I've reinstalled FF, but the problem is still there.
(The installation found that there was already a previous installation of FF, by the way)
What do I do now?
Maybe there's a way to clear FF completely from my computer and re-install? Please let me know
