Did you select Also delete your browsing data? when you removed Chrome?

Hello JustTheEngineer,

We will uninstall Chrome again, but this time we will take a different approach..

  • Please open the Start menu.
  • Click on Settings and then System.
  • Select Apps & Features.
  • Locate and click on the following programs:
      Google Chrome
  • Select uninstall.
  • Ensure that Also delete your browsing data? is checked => Very important!
  • When the process is finished, please restart your computer.
    Note: you can only remove one program at a time.

Next..

  • Click Start
  • Type notepad.exe in the search programs and files box and click Enter.
  • A blank Notepad page should open.
    • Copy/Paste the contents of the code box below into Notepad.
Code: Select all
C:\Program Files\Google
C:\Program Files (x86)\Google
C:\Users\Primitive\AppData\Local\Google

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Google]

    • Save it to the same folder/directory that FRST.exe is in, naming it as fixlist.txt

NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user. Running it on another machine may cause damage to your operating system

  • Start FRST in a similar manner to when you ran a scan earlier, but this time when it opens ....
    • Press the Fix button once and wait.
    • FRST will process fixlist.txt
    • When finished, it will produce a log fixlog.txt in the same folder/directory as FRST64.exe
    • Please post me the log

To re-install Google Chrome, please do the following..
  • Click on the following link: Google Chrome.
  • Read the Terms of Service and select Accept and Install.
  • Save ChromeSetup.exe to your desktop.
  • Go to your desktop and right-click on ChromeSetup.exe and select Run as administrator.
  • Google Chrome will then install itself.
  • When the process is over, Chrome will open.

Are you able to re-install your extensions now?

That's great!! Now for the good news..there are no more signs of malware on your computer. :) Please follow the steps below and then you'll be all set to go.

Let's remove the tools we have been using so far..
  • Please download Delfix to your desktop.
  • Right-click on delfix_1.013.exe and select Run as administrator.
  • Check the following boxes:
    • Remove disinfection tools
    • Purge system restore
  • You can now safely remove any tools and/or logs that may remain on your computer.

FirewallRules: [{76ED4AFF-6B43-4B40-B678-3D88F6A60052}] => (Allow) C:\Users\Primitive\AppData\Roaming\BitTorrent\BitTorrent.exe
FirewallRules: [{952AD197-BB15-4421-B7BC-ADCAE8CE8DB7}] => (Allow) C:\Users\Primitive\AppData\Roaming\BitTorrent\BitTorrent.exe
FirewallRules: [{879C7199-73F5-4DBD-934C-DE69807A919B}] => (Allow) C:\Users\Primitive\AppData\Roaming\BitTorrent\BitTorrent.exe
FirewallRules: [{646BE1CC-964E-4EC4-87E5-D2F5DCAF1D5B}] => (Allow) C:\Users\Primitive\AppData\Roaming\BitTorrent\BitTorrent.exe
FirewallRules: [{8C423CA3-1393-4A11-816E-F8A0FD6FA15D}] => (Allow) C:\Users\Primitive\AppData\Roaming\BitTorrent\BitTorrent.exe
FirewallRules: [{B85EE0DE-7034-44D2-9D29-2E4F1CDC4852}] => (Allow) C:\Users\Primitive\AppData\Roaming\BitTorrent\BitTorrent.exe

A word of caution: Using Peer-to-peer (P2P) programs such as uTorrent is a sure way to get infected. As you can see from the lines taken from your logs, BitTorrent is allowed to bypass your firewall. This basically means that anything can go in and out of your computer without asking for your permission. It's no surprise that most people who get infected are P2P users. Please follow my advice and stay away from peer-to-peer software...it will save you a lot of headaches in the future.

You should also read and get acquainted with the following topic: COMPUTER SECURITY - a short guide to staying safer online , which goes into depth on how to keep your computer secure. I bookmarked it for easy reference and so should you.

I would really appreciate it if you could reply to this post to let me know that you've seen it, so that I can request for this topic to be closed.
