Windows 7 update KB3175443 failure

Unread postby siltyclaycorvair » September 1st, 2016, 12:43 am

Hello,
I have experienced a Windows 7 update KB3175443 failure on the laptop I am using now on this forum. I am asking for help to fix this problem. I have been helped by a nice guy on Microsoft Community for the last approximately 1 week, but when this problem wasn't solved, he suggested this forum, among others for additional help. If helpful and allowed by this forum, I can provide a link to the thread, which explains the process I went through to fix, and the results I got.

I can use my computer. Upon startup, it tries to run the update, fails, and reverts back to the previous configuration, which takes about 15 minutes before I can log in.

After the process described in the link I can provide, yesterday morning I manually downloaded the update KB3175443, and ran it, but it resulted in a message "not applicable to your computer."

Attached are the FRST logs

Thank you,
Jeff

While we appreciate that you very likely posted at multiple forums in order to ensure a response, that only serves to tie up the time of multiple helpers who could be using that time to help someone else who also has problems. Although there are many forums that handle computer and/or malware issues, there are not so many helpers; most of us help out at several forums. In addition, the results may not work out so well when you're following different instructions from different helpers. They may suggest different approaches for the same problem, all of which may be good; however, system conflicts may arise if different fixes for the same problem are applied simultaneously.

In the future, for your sake as well as ours, please refrain from requesting help from multiple forums. Choose one, and stick with that one until they've resolved your problem.

NOTE: You were instructed by Robear in the Microsoft Community Forum to start a new thread in one of the forums he recommended.
