Spyware Strike Removal

Unread postby mherman2 » January 9th, 2006, 3:17 am

Hey guys, I am beating my head against the wall on this one.

I got Spyware Strike 2.5 on my computer. I tried various removal programs, even bought Spyware Doctor to no avail.

It keeps reappearing even after I remove it from program files.

The most annoying issue is the "System Intrusion Detected" in the desktop bar/try.

Here is my HJT:

Spyware Removal

Unread postby mherman2 » January 9th, 2006, 3:31 am

It looks like I was able to remove it from machine but something is keeping the system tray "System Intrusion Detected" message going and after uninstalling the virus yesterday it re-installed itself tonight and I just removed it manually and with spyware doctor again.

PLEASE HELP ME KILL THIS DAMN THING

You are running Hijackthis from a temp location. Please extract a copy to it's own, permanent folder.
Help with unzipping files is HERE

Please post a current HijackThis log.

Same Boat

Unread postby ninjaman2006 » January 9th, 2006, 9:33 am

Hey buddy you and me are in the same boat. I've done everything and have searched everywhere online to find a solution to this spyware strike problem but it seems that there is no answer for it at this present time. I'm no group advisor or anything but one way I figured out how to simply get rid of the annoying bubble saying system intrusion alert is to go to your settings in the control panel for display where it says taskbar and start menu settings and then you can choose under the taskbar menu where it says notification area, click on hide inactive icons, then you will see an active list of all possible notification icons would pop up and the spyware strike should be listed as well as the Virus Alert Icon!! From there you can see on the right hand side of it to control its behavior by clicking on the drag down box and selecting "Always Hide"

It's only a temporary fix to getting rid of seeing that annoying bubble if you still need to use your computer for other things like job - related work in my case. Trust me, I'm as aggrivated as you are and no one seems to know how to deal with this particular pest as yet. But please let me know when you found something. Us victims have to stick together man.

ninjaman2006 If you have a Spywarestrike infection post a HijackThis log in your own thread...it is quite removable..100%..Simply hiding a symptom of the infection is no solution at all..the infection remains if the "Intrusion detection" is still on the machine.

Spyware STrike

Unread postby mherman2 » January 10th, 2006, 3:25 am

I ran Ewido and AVG spyware removal and those seemed to have taken care of the issue.

Thanks for the help.

If it re-appears I will get back in touch.
