COM Surrogate process, Failing Audio and gaming issues

Unread postby XeonAndressyll » March 23rd, 2015, 11:07 pm

For about three months now, some of the games (League of Legends, Infinte Crisis, Smite) that I play on my machine have had very brief but very dramatic interruptions in game play. Usually things run very smoothly, but on occasion the screen will pause, and although sounds would still play, the screen would remain frozen for a second or two. Then, just a day or two ago, I experienced my first of many serious problems: my computer started running extremely slow, even without any other tasks running, it would take 10 to 20 minutes to open the Control Panel. After that, my audio files started giving me the error message "Server execution failed". That led me to check around, do some malware and anti-virus scans (Malwarebytes and AVG), and eventually led me to see that the COM Surrogate process is multiplying every time I have opened a window. Shortly after my scans, my audio failed, and is still inoperable to this moment. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. FRST scans attached.
