Please Help..Malware and Trojans

Unread postby JordanWormes » September 18th, 2014, 1:31 am

I have recently started working on a friends computer. Normally I can speed it up by doing the basics. I have been running into unusual problems. After running Microsoft Security Ess. the first time it told me I removed four Trojans and one Malware file. I ran it a second time and it came up clean. I started digging deeper into it and I found "InstallMate" folder, "tarma installer", and in a wildly named, by numbers dashes and letters, folder "DIFxInstallLog" file. I looked around for answers and kept coming across a program name ComboFix. I downloaded it from CNET and ran it. I could use some help please. How can I use this log to help me get this laptop running the way it should?

thanks, jordanwormes

Also if I don't start the machine in safe mode, windows explorer crashes and restarts any time I try to go to my computer properties and I get a com surrogate error...
