malsign trusops warning from AVG keeps popping up

Unread postby portanut » March 28th, 2014, 1:42 am

Hi, new here so please forgive any and all stupidity (on my part!)...
wife is running vista and AVG full.
Few minutes ago an update for Java popped up new taskbar, lower rhs of desktop. Wife said it will begin and then the AVG warning will come up, which it did.
This same warning has been alerted to by AVG for the last few weeks and might be getting more regular, although I can not clarify that as yet.
The warning is for
path being C\ProgramFiles\FileTypeAssistant\temp\~temp.exe

Is this a problem and if so, how big a problem and can I/we get rid of it?

Thanks in advance and thanks for being here for folk like me,

ps.. I checked with the Java on the PC and it is already up to date.
The warning comes with other things besides this Java thing and was on-screen yesterday? after the screen saver was running and nothing else except being connected via vodafone broadband - mobile.

By posting just a description of your problems it is likely that your topic will be passed by and you will not receive the help you're looking for.

We need to know what's running on your computer so that we can give you appropriate instructions.

May I draw your attention to THIS topic, which you should have read, and which tells you what we need you to post so that we can help you.

This thread will now be closed.

If you still need help, please start a new thread with:-
  • DDS logs (DDS.txt & Attach.txt)
  • Details of the problems you're experiencing.

If for any reason you can't run DDS, please let us know in your post.
