Ok. So I'm going to start off by telling you I am merely a 14 year old girl. As you can imagine I am entirely confused as to what I'm doing. I just know I need help. Given that, I've tried my hardest to give you the information you need below, and I'm sorry if I done it wrong but I just don't know what I'm doing and I'm dumb with computer stuff. Ok so, I've downloaded plenty of music from the website mp3juices.com, and I'm pretty sure that gave me a bunch of tracking cookies. My Norton Antivirus has always taken care of them and they were always classified as a low risk. About a month ago I downloaded IMVU. I quickly got bored of it and it was lagging my computer terribly, so of course I uninstalled it. After doing so, my computer continued to be laggy, and I knew something was up. So I googled a bunch of stuff on how to get rid of the IMVU virus and somewhere I read that I could use Spyhunter4 to get rid of it. So before even looking into the program, I downloaded Spyhunter4 and ran a scan on my computer. The scan came up with a little over 1,400 viruses on my computer. The majority of it being tracking cookies. I then tried to get rid of the viruses through Spyhunter4, but it asked me to pay, which I was not about to do. So I uninstalled Spyhunter4 since it couldn't help me in any way. Then after I uninstalled it, Norton started picking up trojans and different things being altered on my computer. After that my computer is still horribly laggy and it randomly closes tabs and windows I have up. A friend suggested this sight so I figured I'd give it a try, I hope you can help me...

Hello Vanilla-krypton,

Welcome to the forum! :)

I am pgmigg and I'll be helping you with any malware problems.

Before we begin, please read and follow these important guidelines, so things will proceed smoothly.
  1. The instructions being given are for YOUR computer and system only!
Using these instructions on a different computer can cause damage to that computer and possibly render it inoperable!
  2. You must have Administrator rights, permissions for this computer.
  3. DO NOT run any other fix or removal tools unless instructed to do so!
  4. DO NOT install any other software (or hardware) during the cleaning process until we are done as well as
DO NOT Remove, or Scan with anything on your system unless I ask. This adds more items to be researched.
Extra Additions and Removals of files make the analysis more difficult.
  5. Only post your problem at (1) one help site. Applying fixes from multiple help sites can cause problems.
  6. Print each set of instructions if possible - your Internet connection will not be available during some fix processes.
  7. Your security programs may give warnings for some of the tools I will ask you to use. Be assured, any links I give are safe.
  8. Only reply to this thread, do not start another one. Please, continue responding, until I give you the "All Clean!"
Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.

I am currently reviewing your logs and will return, as soon as possible, with additional instructions. In the meantime...

Note: If you haven't done so already, please read this topic ALL USERS OF THIS FORUM MUST READ THIS FIRST where the conditions for receiving help here are explained.

Please read all instructions carefully before executing and perform the steps, in the order given.
lf you have any questions or problems executing these instructions, <<STOP>> do not proceed, post back with the question or problem.

Please be aware that removing Malware is a potentially hazardous undertaking. I will take care not to knowingly suggest courses of action that might damage your computer. However it is impossible for me to foresee all interactions that may happen between the software on your computer and those we'll use to clear you of infection, and I cannot guarantee the safety of your system. It is possible that we might encounter situations where the only recourse is to re-format and re-install your operating system, or to necessitate you taking your computer to a repair shop.

Because of this, I advise you to backup any personal files and folders before you start

Operating Systems no longer supported by Microsoft

It appears you are using a computer with an unsupported Operating System - Windows Vista with Service Pack 1.

May I draw your attention to the topic: ALL USERS OF THIS FORUM MUST READ THIS FIRST, which you should have read before posting for help.

The section here explains why we do not offer help for such computers. Thank you for your understanding.

If you still need help, please install Service Pack 2 and then start a new thread with with fresh
  • DDS logs (DDS.txt & Attach.txt)
  • Details of the problems you're experiencing.

This thread will be closed.
