SP1 for Windows 7 was released almost two years ago. As a result of that release, Windows 7 RTM (with no service pack) will no longer be supported by Microsoft as of April 9th, 2013, following the standard Windows support lifecycle, which specifies that support for an earlier OS version ends 24 months after the release of a new service pack.

What this means is that if you are using Windows 7 without SP1 installed, you will stop receiving Windows Updates for your operating system as of April 9th, 2013. Windows Updates are your machine's first defense against malware; without them, all other forms of defense are futile. So, if your operating system is Windows 7, without SP1, then you need to get SP1 installed on your machine before April 9th because, without updates, your operating system will soon become a magnet for malware.

It should also be noted that this site does not offer malware removal services for non-supported operating systems; therefore, shortly after April 9th, 2013 on August 13th, 2013, Windows 7 RTM (Windows 7 without SP1) will be added to our list of operating systems we do not support.

DENIAL OF ASSISTANCE

If you have received help at this site, and have been informed that you must bring your operating system up to date by installing appropriate updates, including any/all missing Service Packs, and you subsequently return to this site with the system reinfected and still do not have the required Service Packs installed, you will not be eligible for assistance. It is simply a waste of our helpers' time and effort to continue to assist computer owners who refuse to update their computer's operating system.
