I have a Dell Laptop with Vista OS. This evening, while logging on to Best Buy's website, my computer became infected with the FBI Moneypak virus. I have been googling for fixes, but each remedy I find asks that I reboot in SafeMode. This virus won't allow me to, it completely bypasses safemode; consequently, I can't post a log here. Can anyone here help me, please?

I'm currently using a borrowed laptop b/c my Dell has been rendered useless with this virus. It simply hangs on a fraudulent page trying to extort $200.

Thanks, in advance, for your consideration...briolette

Hi and welcome to back to Malware Removal. :)

Which Operating System is in use with this machine ?

Do you have a USB stick/drive ?

Also on your infected machine can you confirm it is still the 32 Bit version of Vista ?

Answer the above and we then go from there, thank you.

Hello, and thank you very much for responding.

My husband became impatient and took the laptop to the geeks at Best Buy against my advice, I might add. As a result, I was just logging in to ask that my topic be closed.

Thank you, again, for responding. I've had good experiences finding help here before and will no doubt return in the future.
