Problem with my PC

Please help. I am having a problem with my PC. There are internet connection issues (internet connection is spotty, although it works fine for the other computers in my house ), and a mysterious search engine (AVG Secure Search) pops up on my screen.

Any ideas how to remove this virus(es)?
